Enrich

In tribute to the tenth anniversary, a keyword was being assigned for each photography piece. Using candles, the concept of enrich was being delved into. To enrich is to supply, to adorn, to add greater value or significance to, and to restore. Lining 21 candles in a Fibonacci formation set against a dark background, Enrich seeks to explore the concept of supplication and warmth. Much like the flame of a candle is supplied from within, where the wick catches fire and burns, it also provides warmth to its surrounding environments as well. The number 21 is also symbolic of the harmony of creation in the bible. According to Eckartshausen, in 21, the highest possible number of 3 in the corporal is in relation with the spiritual and shows the quality of renewal. As the 21 candles burn, the heat of the candle enriches and renews its surroundings, while it is being renewed itself as well.
