Existing as a white canvas that coalesces myriad perspectives, After Fontana depicts the form of an empty frame and embodies the notion of tabula rasa. Cast in reinforced plaster de paris, the ornate and meticulously crafted frame encases a single slit in the center that references renowned artist Lucio Fontana’s signature work, alluding to the notion of an aperture and creating multilayered  frame within a frame. The artwork complicates the idea of an art piece by straddling the mediums of painting and sculpture and marrying conventional and traditional expressions of art.
